Autumn in Northampton isn’t just about crunchy leaves and digging out your favourite jumper — it’s about coming together for moments that make you go “wow”. And this year, the town’s calendar is bursting with them. Think fireworks that dance in time to music, lanterns lighting up the night in a blaze of colour, and a community standing shoulder to shoulder in remembrance. From family fun on the Racecourse to giant puppets parading through the town centre, Northampton’s about to put on a season of celebrations you’ll want to mark in your diary (and yes, maybe even your phone alarms too).

Northampton’s much-loved Fireworks Spectacular, organised by Northampton Town Council, is back at the Racecourse on Saturday 1st November — and it’s free for all to enjoy!

The fun kicks off from 4pm with entertainment for the whole family, supported by event sponsors, Maintenance Services Electrical Ltd.

BBC Radio Northampton’s Justin Dealey will host the live stage, featuring an upbeat music performance from party band Funk Odyssey and a thrilling Fire and Pyro routine from the Live Performers. Big screens will also show a short film about the Gunpowder Plot and an on-screen version of the Great Fire of Northampton virtual trail — both revealing fascinating slices of local history.

Alongside the stage, visitors can enjoy a lively Fun Fair, tempting Catering Village, and family-friendly extras including kids’ face painting and a Help for Heroes charity stall. Please note that charges apply.

The night ends in style with a spectacular pyro-musical fireworks finale at 6pm.
