Posted 30th July 2024As part of this year’s Northants and Rutland Open Studios Festival in September, a talented group of Northamptonshire artists will be showing their work at Abington Park Museum from 7th September to 3rd November 2024.
Northamptonshire artists Emma Lindsay, Marisa Vanschuyver, Hilary Grayson, Cordell Garfield, Lisa Deighan, Sally Pennycate, Serena Durgheu and Carol Bullen will be exhibiting a selection of their work at the museum’s gallery space.
With over 300 artists taking part in this year’s event, opening their studios and exhibiting throughout the county and beyond, with a showcase exhibition at Lamport Hall, it promises to be the premier art event in Northamptonshire. The show at Abington Park Museum is opening its doors to bring to the public an exhibition showing the rich diversity and quality of artwork produced by these 8 local artists, with paintings in mixed media, oils, acrylics, collages, batik silk and watercolours.
During the Open Studios Arts Festival there will be a chance to meet the artists at Abington Park Museum, with the 8 artists also demonstrating their techniques and work at various weekends during September and October. Offering a glimpse of the artist at work, meeting these artists provides a unique insight into their approach and how their art is produced.
Open Studios remains a showcase for Northamptonshire’s artists, and as always this is a well anticipated event and a major happening in the county’s art calendar, with Abington Park Museum being the perfect venue at the heart of the Festival. All the paintings on show at the museum will be sale, offering an ideal opportunity to purchase the perfect piece of artwork.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 7th September to 3rd November 2024. Opening times are Saturday and Sunday 12pm to 4pm. Admission is free.
