Northampton College Celebrates Record GCSE Results

Northampton College has reported its best-ever GCSE results, with a record number of students passing maths and English this year.
More than 600 students achieved grade 4 or above across the two subjects, marking a significant milestone for the college.
Principal Jason Lancaster praised the achievement, describing it as a reflection of a “culture of excellence” across the college. He said: “These results will enable students to progress onto Level 3 programmes, such as BTECs, T Levels and apprenticeships, while others now have the qualifications they need to thrive in the workplace.”
The college’s inclusive, trauma-informed approach has supported learners from a wide range of backgrounds, including 16–18-year-olds, adults returning to education, and students with special educational needs.
Performance in GCSE maths was particularly strong: 86% of students sitting the higher paper achieved grade 4 or above, a 15% increase compared to last year.
Lancaster added: “Students and staff have shown real ambition throughout the year, setting challenging targets which have now been achieved. Everyone should be rightly proud of their efforts.”
Students who have received their results can attend advice and guidance sessions at Northampton College’s campuses in Booth Lane, Lower Mounts, and Daventry to explore their next steps.
