Families supporting a vulnerable relative who is unable to make important decisions for themselves have additional specialist legal expertise available in Northampton following a new appointment at Wilson Browne Solicitors.
Michael Neal-Brook has joined the firm as a partner in its Court of Protection team, bringing more than 12 years’ experience in the legal sector and almost a decade as a qualified solicitor.
Court of Protection work can become relevant when someone lacks the mental capacity to make particular decisions themselves. For families, that can mean dealing with difficult questions about who can make decisions on their behalf and how matters such as their finances and property should be managed.
Michael specialises in mental capacity, deputyship and vulnerable client matters, working with individuals and their families when legal arrangements are needed to protect their interests.
His experience includes supporting vulnerable people and those close to them. He is recognised as a specialist solicitor by the National Autistic Society, is a Dementia Friend and is regularly recommended by the Thalidomide Trust to support its beneficiaries and their families.
Michael is also an accredited member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers, an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a senior member of the Professional Deputies Forum.
